This ’65 Continental is being built as what would best be described as a “modern” custom. The owner wants this great luxury classic to go, stop, and handle like a current performance car. An upgraded suspension with monster brakes, a 550 hp, 460 cu. in. big block with fuel injection, a custom interior, and a show quality, Trick Works exterior treatment will all be combined to achieve the design goal.
To date, the following work has been performed by the Trick Works crew:
- Suspension has been upgraded with extensive modifications including a triangulated four-link setup in the rear and airbag spring system front and rear.
- A new, high strength, rear subframe was constructed to mount the new rear suspension components.
- A Wilwood disc brake system has been installed at all four corners.
- The engine compartment has been smoothed and also clearanced to fit the new big block motor. New motor mounts also had to be designed and fabricated.
- A set of custom headers were fabricated by Trick Works for the new motor
- New wheelhouses have been fabricated and installed to accommodate the new 20” rear wheels.
- The custom interior has been laid out and fabrication is progressing on the dash, console and seat combination.
- Gas cap door and door keyholes filled.
- Miscellaneous rust repair.
